Is It Time To Change Your Password? Here’s The Top Passwords In Canada

It may be time to update some of your passwords.

Once again this year, NordPass (A Cybersecurity company) has published its list of “the top 200 most common passwords”.

The list includes some interesting passwords, including a few that are not suitable for work.

However, I now know why a lot of company’s require passwords with capital letters, numbers and symbols.

Turns out the #1 password in Canada is still, 123456….over 570,178 Canadians still use it.

You can find the full 200 common passwords list HERE, but here is the top 10:

  1. 123456
  2. password
  3. 123456789
  4. 12345
  5. 121345678
  6. qwerty
  7. abc123
  8. tiffany
  9. password1
  10. testing

Hey…#11 is hockey. Now that’s truly Canadian.

Long story short…it’s time to update your passwords to something a bit more challenging if you are still using a common one. It takes a hacker about a second to crack into your accounts if you have one of the above passwords.
