Red Cross Launches Appeal Following B.C. Flooding

In the same year where wildfires wreaked havoc, beleaguered B.C. is dealing with deadly mudslides and flooding turning highways into rivers.

Canadians looking to help those impacted by last week’s devastating flooding can donate to the Red Cross.

The organization has launched the British Columbia Floods and Extreme Weather Appeal.

On the ground, Red Cross teams are providing emergency support services to anyone forced to flee their homes and handing out cots, blankets, and clean-up kits.

The costs to repair the damage caused to roads, highways and other infrastructure have been estimated in the billions of dollars.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to tour the damage on Friday.
