First Responders Hope To Fill Ambulance During Haul-A-Day Food Drive

First responders will once again be filling their vehicles for the 13th Great Haul-A-Day food drive.

South Shore Paramedics, the Bridgewater Police and the Lunenburg District RCMP have teamed up to collect donations for the Bridgewater Inter-Church Food Bank.

Primary Care Paramedic, Nicole Monaghan said collecting food and monetary donations is especially important as the holidays approach.

“This time of year it’s harder for people to afford food sometimes with increased power bills and heating of homes,” explained Monaghan.

She said the ultimate goal is to fill the emergency vehicles.

“Our goal is to stuff an ambulance from top to bottom with non-perishables,” said Monaghan. “If we manage to fill the ambulance then we will start filling the police cars.”

The Great Haul-A-Day Food drive is happening on Saturday from 1-4:30p.m. at Atlantic Superstore in Bridgewater.

Donations can also be dropped off ahead of time at the Cookville RCMP detachment.
