111 new cases of COVID-19, cases found at Dal

There are 111 new cases of COVID-19 being announced in our province Sunday.

63 are in the Halifax region, 42 in Eastern Zone, five in Northern Zone, and one in Western Zone.

We continue to see cases from the outbreak at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, including in the Halifax region where some StFX students have their primary address.

Public Health says most cases are in young people who are fully vaccinated, and are relatively mild.

There are also now presumed cases at Dalhousie University in Halifax, identified by rapid tests and set to be confirmed by PCR test.

Due to the outbreak, Public Health is requiring all close contacts, including those fully vaccinated, to isolate until they have a negative test result.
