Three universities call off in-person exams due to COVID-19 surge

Three universities are calling off in-person exams to prevent the further spread of COVID-19.

Dalhousie University, Cape Breton University, and Acadia University are putting a pause on the tests, starting on Tuesday.

Dal and Acadia both say the remaining exams will either be postponed, moved online, or cancelled.

Dalhousie has confirmed 13 cases of COVID-19 and 32 people have tested positive through rapid testing.

CBU has one confirmed case. The university is looking at take-home exams, online exams, and alternative assignments.

This comes as our province announces the arrival of the Omicron variant along with 114 new COVID-19 cases.
