Anthony Gosbee Wins Shelburne By-Election

Anthony Gosbee is the newest councillor in the Municipality of Shelburne.

He won Saturday’s by-election in District Four with 135 votes, that’s 56 per cent of the total votes cast.

Ken Gregory came in second place with 96 votes, and Peter Jones received ten votes in third place.

The election was held completely electronically with internet and telephone voting.

District Four represents residents of Ohio, Welshtown and Indian Fields, as well as areas of Sandy Point and Upper Clyde.

Voter turnout was 41.2 per cent.

The election was held to fill the vacancy left by long-time councillor Terry McIntyre, who passed away in October.

Gosbee will be sworn in at their next council meeting on January 12th.
