One person dead due to Forties Road Collision

One person is dead after a car went off a steep embankment on the Forties Road Friday evening.

Lunenburg District RCMP, EHS and the New Ross Fire Department responded to the call near Franey Corner at around 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

The driver, a 56-year-old man, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The passenger, A 55-year-old woman, was taken to South Shore Regional Hospital by ambulance with life-threatening injuries.

The Forties Road was closed for approximately six hours while collision reconstructionist was on scene.
