Liberal Health Critic Says PC’s Need To Keep Daily COVID Updates

Nova Scotia’s new Liberal health critic says citizens need better data to live with COVID-19.

Patricia Arab, the MLA for Fairview-Clayton Park says just because we’re ending restrictions and beginning to live with COVID, doesn’t mean we should ignore the signs.

“So if we’re going to live with it, we need to know what we’re living with. We need to know what the impacts on our healthcare system are going to be,” says Arab.

The province will soon move to weekly hospitalization updates.

Arab says until the pressure eases on the healthcare system, information should continue to be made available daily.

“A lack of transparency, and the removal of updates or numbers is irresponsible. I don’t think that’s in the best interest of Nova Scotia.”

She says she trusts Nova Scotia Health, and their recommendation to end most public health mandates on March 21st.
