RCMP Release Monthly Stats on Impaired Driving

Nova Scotia RCMP say 91 people were charged with impaired driving last month.

41 charged with Impaired Operation of a Conveyance by Alcohol.

Two charged with Impaired Operation of a Conveyance by Drug.

Seven charged with Refusal of a Demand Made by a Peace Officer.

41 issued driving suspensions for Operating a Conveyance While Having Consumed Alcohol.

There are 250 members who have drug impairment related training , 33 of whom are Drug Recognition Experts and 427 officers trained to operate breathalyzers.

You can call 911 anytime you witness someone who is believed to be driving impaired.

Police say someone drifting in and out of lanes, blowing through traffic signals, and other erratic driving can be signs of an impaired driver.
