Tories respond to growing COVID-19 criticism

The Tory government is responding to growing criticism about its recent handling of COVID-19.

The opposition parties, and some members of the public, have been battering the provincial government over the state of COVID-19 in our province after restrictions dropped.

Premier Tim Houston and Dr. Robert Strang, Chief Medical Officer of Health, appeared in an apparent response video, shared on social media Wednesday.

With soft music playing underneath, Houston repeated his stance that we have the tools we need to protect ourselves without public health restrictions.

The video has been universally shunned by the Liberals and NDP, while gaining a somewhat more mixed response from the public online.

The province most recently faced criticism for its “Let’s Get Back Out There” campaign, apparently calling for a return to a more or less pre pandemic lifestyle.
