Hunting For Eggs

I’m hoping the weather for Sunday changes from what we’re have in the forecast right now. And since we are still several days away, that is likely. But maybe a bit nicer. A little less on the wet side would be nice. Just so eggs can be hidden.

I like a few eggs around the yard on Easter. The foil wrapped chocolate ones are about right. They’re small enough they can be missed, so you have a chance to pick up a few for yourself. And they usually come in enough quantities that if a few fall in your mouth during the process of them being distributed, there are plenty left for the finding. It can happen.

But the outdoor Easter egg hunt is usually one of the things I try to do at Easter.

For one thing, it gets the kids outdoors for a while, which is usually a good thing. Give them a chance to burn off a bit of energy and sugar. You just point out that a certain bunny might have been spotted hanging around the back yard at one point, so they might want to check. Just to make sure any stray eggs are accounted for. It just keeps things interesting.

But the weather does not always cooperate. Since Easter moves a bit, there have been times not only a bit of rain, but a bit of snow has played havoc with the outdoor egg hunt.

So I’m hoping for the best. Hunting the wild Easter egg is always a highlight.
