The Nova Scotia RCMP is reminding motorists that speed and aggressive driving isn’t worth the risk.
They say speeding and aggressive driving increase your risk of an accident and the injuries or death that may result.
Police say even a small increase in speed can drastically impact a driver’s ability to react to hazards and stop in time.
Cpl. Chris Marshall of the Nova Scotia RCMP says, “It’s easy to reduce your risk. Sticking to the posted speed limits gives you the time you need to react and to stop safely. Going above the speed limit just isn’t worth the risk.”
The starting fine for speeding in Nova Scotia is $237.50 and two points on your license.
They say members will continue to target those who speed, stunt and drive aggressively this month in an effort to protect road users.
