MP Perkins tests positive for COVID-19

The office of South Shore-St.Margaret MP Rick Perkins has confirmed with our newsroom that Perkins tested positive for COVID-19 last week.

Perkins has since recovered and has resumed his normal duties attending events in person when appropriate.

His office says, he was also able to continue working virtually whilst he was COVID-19 positive.

Perkins’s positive result came in a week that saw the troubling trend of surging cases in Nova Scotia continue. In the week he tested positive the province reported 6,991 positive PCR tests.

That figure does not include positive rapid test results which there are expected to be many more of.
