A flood has forced the closure of New Germany Elementary School today.
Brian Smith, director of operations for the South Shore Regional School Board says a broken radiator caused the flooding.
“It was on the main floor of the building, so there’s condensation on the upper part of the school. As well, three rooms downstairs in the hallway were flooded with water,” said Smith.
He says the clean-up started last night and will continue all day.
The Board is not sure when it will be safe for students and staff to return to school or if they’ll need to find another building to resume classes.
There will be an update at 1pm Monday afternoon.
