Bridgewater Curling Club Dedicates Ice Shed To Former Ice-Maker

The ice shed at the Bridgewater Curling Club has a familiar name attached to it.

Bob Barnes died earlier this month.

The section of the club was dedicated to Barnes on Sunday, who was a long-time ice-maker.

Director Gina Walsh says Barnes is missed.

“Bob’s loss has left a huge hole in the hearts of the BCC and also throughout the curling community in Nova Scotia and beyond. Everybody wanted to curl on Bob’s ice.”

Barnes was heavily involved in the club and spent time in several positions including president.

A large picture of Barnes along with a plaque was placed in the club.
