Hockey Nova Scotia is taking their sledge game to the next level.
Executive Director, Darren Cossar, says a provincial sledge hockey team is in the works.
He says they’ve been running training programs for a few years but their focus has been on participation.
“If we don’t have that competitive side, that high performance end,” he says, “then some of our athletes are going to drop out and look for other opportunities.”
Hockey Canada has expressed interest in creating a national championship in 2017.
Cossar says their goal is to have the provincial team up and running by then.
