Every once and awhile you’ll see someone on Facebook or another social media platform say something along the lines of “I’ve been hacked” or “This isn’t me”. I’ve always wondered why that happens and how to avoid it happening to me. So far (knock on wood) I have never been hacked on my social media accounts and I’d like to keep it that way! If you have been hacked in the past or just want to protect yourself from that happening, follow these simple guidelines!
How To Not Get Hacked On Social Media
- Never click any unexpected or strange links sent to you via email or on any social media accounts
- Never use the “remember by password function on your computer or mobile device
- Use super strong passwords or pass phrases
- Don’t accept strange profile requests
If you follow those steps, hackers will have a harder time taking over your account! Most of the time just go with your gut and use common sense. Have you ever been hacked on social media? What ended up happening? What did you learn?
