This past weekend’s weather was great, but the blackflies were the worst I’ve ever seen.
I don’t remember the outdoor pests being that bad last summer or the year previous.
Did you find them worse this year?
They claim that insect repellents with DEET, or the scent of lavender, vanilla and pine will keep them away, but I’ don’t know if I want to smell like a Nova Scotia government outhouse.
I’ve also heard that a mix of water, vinegar and mint will work.
What do you use to keep the blackflies away?
