It started with a conversation last fall about opening a new micro-brewery in Mahone Bay.
Now, four founding members are preparing to unveil Saltbox Brewing.
The company is planning to open a 10 BBL brewhouse on Main Street in an old service station.
Andrew Tanner says they will be community-based.
“We want to have a facility where people in Lunenburg County can come in and feel part of our home, in essence, and feel welcome and socialize.”
He adds, they have received support to have their beers in pubs and restaurants in Lunenburg County.
Tanner says they plan to offer a wheat beer, pale ale and IPA to start.
They will be available on a limited basis this spring before full-time operations start-up later this summer.
