UPDATE: Hold And Secure No Longer In Place At Lockeport Schools

UPDATED: 12:30 p.m:

RCMP say there’s no threat to schools in Lockeport after a ‘Hold and Secure’ went into effect this morning.

Corporal Chris Marshall tells Acadia News, the Shelburne detachment received a call around 10:15 a.m. about a social media post from a member of the community.

The post was a picture of a gun with a caption that read ‘watch your children.’

RCMP immediately responded to Lockeport Regional High School and Lockeport Elementary School.

As police investigated, they determined there was a dispute away from the schools between two parties that were known to each other, and the post wasn’t related to the schools or local children.

The Hold and Secure’ has been lifted and dismissal will proceed as scheduled.

Cpl. Marshall says RCMP are dealing with those involved, and could not say whether arrests or charges were pending.
