Athlete Of The Week: Grayson Roy

Our Athlete of the Week is 10-year-old Grayson Roy of Queens County

Sports Organization: Queens County Cougars

Grayson was diagnosed with Perthes Disease when he was 3 years old which meant that he was unable to run, jump, participate in any long walks or activities. He had to spend the next 4 years with restrictions and limitations on what he could do. At 7 his specialist gave him the go ahead to start playing sports!!

He was so excited to start playing hockey, he joined the Queens County Cougars and has loved every minute on the ice. He always gives it his all and loves his position on defense. He is a player his team can count on and has sportsmanship to be admired, he is proud of his teammates and always ready with positive words.
This year his U11 C team earned the banner at the Day of Champions they played hard and worked together as a team.

Being able to play sports and be part of team is a dream come true for Grayson. This year he also go to be part of his school’s soccer team and in his spare time enjoys biking, swimming and badminton with his family.

As Athlete of the Week, Grayson won $50 to Cleve’s Source for Sports in Bridgewater
