Have you ever been hypnotized? I remember going to a Reveen the Hypnotist show years ago and he was able to hypnotize a number of people in the audience (including my wife, but not me)

When I was trying to quit smoking I went to see a hypnotist and he taught me how to hypnotize myself – whenever I had a craving for nicotine I could imagine myself floating in the warm Caribbean Sea and the craving would go away.
Now, back to that Reveen show – my wife was called up on stage along with a dozen other volunteers and he had them all doing crazy things like acting like different animals or imagining they were jockeys or famous athletes. He told my wife that she was a very famous singer on stage at a concert and that she would ignore everything else going on around her and just keep singing.
And that’s exactly what she did – she somehow thought she was Madonna singing “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” from the musical Evita.
The only problem was that he couldn’t bring her out of her hypnotic state because he had told her to ignore all disruptions. So after he couldn’t get her to come out of it, he moved on to each of the other dozen volunteers and sent them back to their seats.
He kept coming back to her but she wasn’t having any of it.
Finally, with just Reveen and my wife on stage he was able to get through to her and she was the last one to head back to her seat.
She had no recollection of singing to the entire auditorium and wouldn’t believe me when I tried to convince her that she had been the star of the show.
