NS announces $858k in funding for upgrades of non-profit facilities

The Nova Scotia government unveiled this year’s list of recipients of funding from the Community Facilities Improvement Program (CFIP).

This year they are investing $858,000 across 35 organizations.

The CFIP supports community-led projects which enhance the public use of existing facilities. This includes repairs and improvements to building exteriors, and interior features that are integral to the long-term sustainability of the facility.

The 35 organizations selected this year vary in size, what they do, and the types of facilities they have, but they all share a common need of upgrading their facilities.

The most common project across all the investments being made are heating upgrades, with eight looking to improve their heating systems and efficiency. Other common projects include kitchen upgrades and roof replacement or repairs.

A list of all the organizations receiving money, how much and what it’s going towards is available through the Nova Scotia Government webpage.
