The Cape Breton Eagles added new players during the first round of the QMJHL Draft last night.
They had the first overall pick, and selected Quebec defender Tomas Lavoie.
The Eagles also took a Nova Scotian, forward Will Shields of Falmouth, and added Quebec forward Thomas Desruisseaux two picks later.
And with the first overall pick in the QMJHL draft, the Eagles choose Tomas Lavoie from Collège Esther-Blondin Phénix!

The Halifax Mooseheads had the seventh pick, and they brought home local defenseman Owen Phillips from U.S. prep.
Two picks later, Rimouski took forward Quinn Kennedy, who played with the Halifax Macs last season.
