A local hockey team is asking people to donate blood in support of one of their own.
Judy and Chuck LeCain have volunteered with the Charlie’s Pizza South Shore Mustangs for over 20 years.
They were walking in Savannah, Georgia last month when they were struck by a vehicle.
Judy required donor blood as a part of her life-saving treatment.
President Lionel Haughn hopes people donate blood locally between February 8 and 12.
“Judy gave blood every year when it was possible and we as an organization would like as many people as possible to give blood on those dates.”
Judy LeCain is recovering in hospital.

Blood donor clinics will be held next week in Chester, Bridgewater and Liverpool.

Monday February 8 – Chester Legion 1-3pm & 5-8pm
Tuesday February 9 – Liverpool Fire Hall 1-3pm & 5-7pm
Wednesday February 10 – Bridgewater NSCC 12-3pm & 5-8pm
Thursday February 11 – Bridgewater NSCC 1-3pm & 5-8pm
Friday February 12 – Bridgewater NSCC 10am – 1pm
