Which Water To Choose

It looks like we still have a couple more rather warm days to go before temperatures start to moderate a bit. Even though it’s warm, you won’t hear my complain. I’ll take this over February any day.

Like a lot of people, I’ll just find a nice spot in the water and float around a bit to keep cool.

Usually, our temperatures tend to be a bit cooler along parts of the coast, so a lot of people will head to the beach. The air temperature tends to be a bit cooler, there is usually a nice breeze and ocean water is always a good place to cool off. Although really, I’m a lake person, to be honest.

Maybe it’s the fact that growing up, I tended to spend more time at a lake than at the ocean. Not that I didn’t spend my share of time near the Atlantic. I just spent more time at the lake.

I prefer lake water. I know. It’s not usually as clean and clear as the ocean, but there tends to be fewer things in the lake that want to eat me. And the ones that do are generally smaller than me, so I have a better chance against them. Although that really isn’t a major concern in either place.

But I do tend to find ocean water a bit too… bracing… I guess that would be the word. Okay… it’s too cold. I prefer the warmer lake water.

I also realize lake water had it’s drawbacks. Like possible algae blooms and duck itch and even beaver fever, which I have had a couple times and is really not much fun. But I still prefer the lake. And it probably is just more about what I am used to.

But getting near the water, no matter what water, seems like a pretty good idea over the next couple days.
