The Municipality of Lunenburg won’t be burning the candle at both ends.
All council sessions will be held during the day after it was voted to do away with night-time meetings.
Councillor Carolyn Bolivar-Getson has concerns.
“By going to day meetings,” she says, “we limit the opportunity for those who have a day job, or for students, to be able to participate and attend.”
Bolivar-Getson says people who want to speak at a council meeting have to take time off work.
She adds anyone who isn’t self employed or retired could be discouraged from running in the municipal election this fall.
A six month trial of the change will start February 23.
