Bay Ferries CEO Issues Statement On Yarmouth Ferry

There is still no ferry in place in Yarmouth.

The CEO for Bay Ferries Limited, Mark MacDonald, issued a statement today, advising people they have been working hard to secure the right vessel for Yarmouth and Maine.

The province selected Bay Ferries as the ferry provider in October and issued a deadline of 45 days to secure a vessel.

It’s been 53 days since the provincial government’s deadline passed on December 13.

MacDonald says the company is trying to identify a vessel that works best for customers, is capable of meeting Canada-US regulatory requirements and makes financial sense for the province of Nova Scotia.

The full statement by MacDonald is below.
