Seven More Medals For N.S. At Canada Games

Seven more medals for Team Nova Scotia at the Canada Games in Niagara, Ontario.

All of them came in canoe-kayak events yesterday.

Athletes from our province took four gold, two silver and a bronze, just a day after winning seven other medals in canoe-kayak.

That pushes our medal total at the games to 19, including 11 gold medals.

Our men’s softball team beat Ontario 5-3 to move to 4-0 on the tournament.

Nova Scotia Canoe-Kayak Medals from Wednesday at Canada Games:

Andrew Billard (Hammonds Plains) Gold – Men’s C-1, 1,000 metres
Jacy Grant (Wellington) Gold – Women’s C-1, 2,000 metres
Jacy Grant (Wellington), Julia Lilley Osende (Dartmouth), Jessica Mackay (Halifax), Sloan MacKenzie (Halifax) – Gold – Women’s IC-4 500 metres
Craig Johnson (Dartmouth) – Gold – Men’s K-1, 1,000 metres
Lily Baert (Dartmouth) and Annah Mbongo (Pointe-Claire, QC) – Silver – Women’s K-2 500 metres
Alex Canning, Ian Gaudet, Craig Johnson, Cole Parsons (Dartmouth) Silver- Men’s K-4 500 metres
Eric Chouinard (Cole Harbour) and Alex MacNeil (Timberlea) Bronze – Men’s C-2 500 metres
