We may or may not be affected by Fiona here on the South Shore in the next few days but it doesn’t hurt to be prepared.
If you remember Juan it really didn’t affect us that badly on the South Shore, but hit Halifax hard and that meant no power for us for a few days.
So, number one thing to do after you put away the patio furniture is get some cash while you can.
Then fill the bathtubs for flushing toilets and put aside some bottled water.
Charge your devices and dig out those flashlights from the junk drawer.
And here is a tip I had never thought of before but boil some eggs.
They’ll come in handy for making sandwiches or just peeling and eating them as they are.
And here’s something that I thought was great during the last power outage I experienced – cold brew coffee.
If you’re used to a coffee in the morning cold brew can be an excellent substitute!
You can buy a bottle of concentrated cold brew coffee and it will get you through a couple of days with no power or caffeine.
