Many of us will be cleaning up our yards and heading to the grocery store today.
Forecasters say Fiona could be a ‘landmark weather event’ in our region.
According to the Canadian Hurricane Centre, the storm is expected to make landfall in Eastern Nova Scotia Saturday morning, with wind gusts up to 175 kilometres an hour, and heavy rain.
They say eastern regions will see the most severe conditions with up to 200 millimetres of rain, but the entire province will feel the effects.
Strong winds and heavy rain will begin tomorrow afternoon, and flooding and washed out roads are likely in some areas.
