Fiona: Some Will Be Without Power Until Next Week

You may have noticed your estimated power restoration time has been pushed back.

Nova Scotia Power now has some places coming back online as late as Monday, as they continue to assess damage from Hurricane Fiona.

In a Twitter video, Director of Customer Care Chris Lanteigne says crews are able to more accurately guess when power will be restored once they survey the scene.

“There are hundreds of power poles that have been staff, and there are thousands of trees that have fallen on our equipment across the province. The restoration has been more complex than we’ve ever seen before.”

Crews continued work overnight, with over 1,300 personnel now on the ground.

Just over 100-thousand customers remain in the dark this morning.
