Parts of Nova Scotia could see between 15-25 centimeters of snow between Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning.
The winter weather comes courtesy of a cold pressure system currently traveling past Sable Isaland according to Environment Canada Meteorologist Ian Hubbard.
“As it makes it’s way past us that cold weather is going to spread out and bring with it snow for most of Atlantic Nova Scotia, parts of mainland Nova Scotia and most of Cape Breton,” said Hubbard.
Snowfall warnings have been issued for essentially the entire Atlantic coast, with Shelburne County as the only exception.
Snowfall has already begun in some of the more southern parts of the province with Halifax expected to begin seeing snowfall sometime early Monday afternoon.
Wind is also expected to be a factor as well with speeds projected to get as high as 70 kilometers an hour in some areas.
The snowfall is expected to be at it’s heaviest overnight, then it’s expected to taper off and end early Tuesday morning.
