U.S. President Joe Biden greeted with Peace by Chocolate candy bar

The President of the United States was welcomed with a tasty treat in Ottawa today that originated here at home.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and other party leaders greeted Joe Biden, but it was Green Party Leader Elizabeth May that handed him a chocolate bar from Peace by Chocolate.

The chocolate shop owned by Syrian refugees that calls Antigonish home, with one location on the Halifax waterfront.

The President made sure he had the candy bar before he left the room.

He said he tells other world leaders that the United States is lucky regarding their relationship with Canada, with similar values.

It’s the President’s first visit to our country since 2016 and he leaves later Friday.
