RCMP in Southwest Nova Scotia are seeking help in locating a man involved in a shooting Tuesday morning in Meteghan.

Cpl. Chris Marshall says they recieved reports of a shooting around 2:30 a.m. originating from a house on Peter Dugas Road.

Upon arrival, RCMP discovered a 21-year old Meteghan man was shot in the leg by a man known to him following an altercation.

The victim sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The suspect, who RCMP have identified as 29-year-old Mitchel Mannette (of Dartmouth) fled the scene in red Honda Civic with Nova Scotia plate HBT-251.

A province-wide warrant has since been issued for his arrest with multiple charges stemming from the shooting, including discharging a firearm with intent.

RCMP say it was not a random incident. They are asking the public to be on the lookout for Mannette, however they say he may still be armed and say he should not be approached if seen.

RCMP also hope to have a photo of Manette available to be shared with the public early Wednesday evening.
