A Couple Last Items

I almost forgot. I was thinking I had Christmas shopping done and dusted. But no. That couldn’t be true.

I had forgotten a couple important family members. Rayne and Sophie. The cat and the dog.

I could always just fake it. Let’s be honest, there will be plenty of boxes, and nothing makes a cat happier than having boxes to sit it. But I really don’t want to take the chance that she might figure it out. She is not one to be crossed.

The dog would be happy with anything. She is a dog. But there should still be something under the tree.

So I have to find presents for the pets.

Rayne does like cat treats. I have scars on my arms to prove it. If you are not quick enough to release the treats from your hand, she will try to help you with that process. So cat treats would be a good thing. And she also likes toys. But she does like to play with them at about 2:00 AM. So nothing with little bells or noisemakers. It’s bad enough that a small cat can sound roughly the size of an elephant when running around the house at night.

Sophie, the dog, is pretty easy. If you can chew it or eat it, she’ll be happy with it. Or maybe a new neck scarf. She has worn one for quite some time and it always surprises me how quick she is to run over and have a piece of fabric tied around her neck. She seems to almost feel undressed without on.

So I have a plan. But it still involves venturing out the weekend before Christmas, which I was hoping to avoid. But it is also important. And I’m not quite sure how it slipped my mind.

The real problem is finding the right wrapping paper for them.
