A Toonie In Gas To Halifax

Even though gas dropped slightly last night, the last week or so I’ve been fondly remembering the car I had during the Nineties.

It was a somewhat legendary 1992 Honda Civic VX hatchback. Why was it legendary? Because it got 50 miles per gallon on the highway. That’s 5.6 litres to go 100 kilometres.

Without a load and at conservative highway speeds, it would sip gas like a two cylinder is the best way to explain this marvel.

I’m trying to remember the price of gas in the late nineties, but it might have been around 50 cents a litre.

But everyday I was commuting from the South Shore to Bedford. And it was roughly a toonie in, and a toonie back.

What’s the cheapest price for gas that you remember?
