Recently I watched for the first time the 2014 Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit film starring Chris Pine and it was, well, just OK. So I went searching for more Tom Clancy inspired goodness and discovered Amazon has an eight episode first season of Jack Ryan starring John Krasinski. Best of all, there’s a second season about to drop in less than 3 weeks!
The Jack Ryan series doesn’t have a middle – aged Ben Affleck or the aging Harrison Ford Jack Ryan from the nineties that we all remember, it features a young, new to the CIA Jack Ryan and it’s really well done. If you loved Homeland, you’ll really like Jack Ryan.
I’ve been trying to avoid binge watching the series, rationing out each episode as the countdown to the second season drops on Amazon Prime Friday November 1st.
