All public schools in Nova Scotia will be closed Monday as the cleanup after Dorian continues, according to the province.
The decision was based on the recommendation of the Emergency Management Office to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Officials are still assessing all schools and properties to ensure they are safe before students and staff come back.
As of early Sunday evening, more than 275,000 Nova Scotia Power customers remained without power.
The province said an update on school openings will be issued on Monday.
