Annapolis Valley School Support Staff Return To Class Today

School support workers return to class today in the Annapolis Valley.

Members of union Local 73 ratified a new agreement with the Regional Centre for Education yesterday.

The agreement addresses wage parity, the main issue behind the two week-long strike.

In a release, NSGEU President Sandra Mullen says the workers stood together for what was fair, and were able to achieve their goal.

Ninety-two percent of workers voted in favour of the deal.

About 150 members of Local 70 on the South Shore reached a tentative agreement with their employer yesterday, and will hold a ratification vote today.
