I have noticed a few people online complaining that they never receive gift cards anymore at Christmas.
A few years ago there were some big conversations about gift cards and whether they were an appropriate gift.
Some said that they were a cop out, that the giver did not put enough thought into the gift.
Personally, I prefer a gift card.
Sure, it’s nice to see another person “see” you and your interests, but that can also apply to a gift card.
If it’s for a business that carries things that interest you, that in itself is recognizing you and your tastes.
