In the next couple of weeks the City Of Saint John New Brunswick will join 3 other communities in trying out a 4 day work week.
The 800 employees will still work the same number of hours, just spread out over 4 days.
Proponents of the change cite all kinds of benefits, including a better work/life balance.
But I wonder if there might be some big drawbacks as well? Daycare schedules could be thrown out of wack.
I’m sure that some couples would end up with one person off on Monday and the other spouse off on Friday.
