Arrest Made In Puppy Swinging Incident

Halifax Regional Police have charged a woman in relation to an incident last week in Dartmouth which involved the mistreatment of a dog.

On the afternoon of Canada Day, officers responded to an altercation on Windmill Road between a group of women.

The fight, involving a woman swinging a puppy by it’s leash, was recorded and posted online.

Police became aware of the video several days later and, after an investigation, and arrested the woman without incident this morning.

Clarissa Angela Crawley, 27, of Dartmouth, is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today to face charges of assault with a weapon and willfully causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.
