I was given this coin over the weekend. I was told it was part of the Oak Island Treasure, but I have my doubts. Mostly the fact that it’s made out of plastic and has “China” stamped on the flip side. As far as I know, Chinese pirates are one of the few groups who have not been rumored to bury anything on Oak Island. My wife tells me I should have held out for one of their “bobby dazzlers”. She may be right.
But I came to the realization that I have never been to Oak Island. Generally, the tours tend to sell out before I get off my butt to book one. I really should go, seeing as how one of the original searchers, Anthony Vaughn, lurks somewhere on the branches of my family tree. Although it would have been much better if he had found a treasure.
