Akaya is 9 years old and a proud member of the Shelburne County Skating Club.
She learned to skate at when she was only 2 1/2 years old and has developed a deeper love for the ice with each passing year.
She is dedicated, driven and focused; and would skate every single day if given the opportunity!
Akaya finished off her first fun and successful competitive season, bringing home several bronze ribbons for both solo and group events; and says the best part of competition is cheering on her friends!
She has a great attitude, and is a very deserving recipient of CKBW’s Athlete of the Week! She has also won $50 to Cleve’s Source for Sports in Bridgewater!
