ATV rollover claims life of Shelburne County man

A single-vehicle crash involving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) has resulted in the death of a 54-year-old man from Shelburne County. The incident occurred at approximately 5:55 p.m. on April 29th, just off New Elm Road in New Elm.

According to the Lunenburg District RCMP, who responded to the call, the ATV had rolled over and suffered heavy damage. Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene and upon arrival, they found the driver deceased. The passenger, a 60-year-old man from Hants County, sustained apparent non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation into the cause of the accident is currently ongoing, and the RCMP has not released any further details at this time. The thoughts of the authorities are with the victim’s family during this difficult time.

ATV accidents can be deadly, and the RCMP encourages all riders to exercise caution and to always wear proper safety gear, including helmets, to prevent serious injury or death. The public is reminded to never operate an ATV while under the influence of drugs or alcohol and to always follow safe driving practices.
