Barbecue Time!

I know a lot of you barbecue your meat and veggies outside all year long. I’m not one of those people anymore.

In fact, we haven’t had the barbecue set up on the deck yet this summer, but this week we’re going for it.

We haven’t owned a propane barbecue for many years. When the last one rusted into nothing, we replaced it with a cheap charcoal barbecue we picked up on impulse from the grocery store.

I used to hate trying to get the charcoal briquets to light and would use half a bottle of barbecue lighter – which added an interesting taste to whatever you were cooking.

Then we picked up a 4 dollar “barbecue chimney” in which you stuff newspapers in the bottom and the briquets in the top and it has always worked like a charm! Plus no strange lighter fluid smells or tastes.

I’ll never go back to propane, but I have been eyeing those funky pellet barbecues.

What do you use? Propane, charcoal or pellets?
