This week I just had to check out the video for the new song by that superstar Adele for her song “Easy On Me”. I wish I’d never checked out the video. It left me fuming.
I was so uncomfortable watching hundreds and hundreds of sheets of paper flying out the window of her car onto the scenic highway she was driving on that I just can’t hear the song now without thinking about all the littering. More on that in a moment.
One of my biggest peeves is seeing the litter on the 103 on the way to work early in the morning. Especially Friday mornings. For years, some knuckehead(s) seem to get a kick out of hitting the fast food restaurants on Thursday nights and then chucking all their litter in the middle of the highway. I see it sitting there every Friday morning at 4:30am when I head to the radio station.
We are so proud of our scenic province and especially this time of the year when we get the spectacular fall colours, and then we have people who have to keep their crew cab spotless by throwing out their garbage.
So, back to Adele’s video. Most of it was filmed in Doncaster, UK where the community council has a great sense of humour and puts it on display frequently on social media. They jokingly have tweeted that they’re fining Adele for littering.
But the joke’s on them!
If you check out the video of the car, the license plate is Quebec. And that scene on the highway was filmed in Sutton, Quebec, just south of Montreal.
(And I’m sure the video producers had someone pick up all those sheets of paper)
