Best Tip I’ve Heard On Coronavirus – Pretend You Have It!

This morning I heard a great tip from a health professor in Europe – who claims he got it from the journalist who was interviewing him – Pretend you have the coronavirus.

If you are serious about changing your lifestyle to accomodate this new world we find ourselves in, you need a bag of tricks to cause the change. Rather than trying to protect yourself from the virus, picture yourself with the virus already and trying to protect the people around you.

I mean, we’re all hopefully keeping space between ourselves and others, covering your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze, and washing your hands for 20 seconds frequently.

So today I tried this behaviour changing trick out. I had to go to the store for a couple of things. I brought some wipes with me in the car. When I got to the store, I took out one wipe and brought it into the store. Got my purchases, wiped my hand, used the debit machine, wiped it, then wiped my hand again.

When I got to my car I unloaded the cart, wiped the handle which reminded me to wipe my hands again, got in the car to drive home.

I’m pretty sure I would have forgotten to wipe my hands when I got out of the store if I wasn’t pretending to have the virus and wiped down my handprints from the cart.

If you have any tips that worked for you in changing your behaviour, please share!
