Best Western closes restaurant after potential exposure

A hotel just outside of Bridgewater has closed its restaurant after a potential COVID-19 exposure advisory.

The exposure notice was issued Friday for anyone at the Best Western Plus on Monday, April 19 from 11 a.m. to 12: 45 p.m.

The hotel in Cookville states its staff are awaiting test results and until they get them back, the hotel restaurant – 27 South – will remain closed.

The hotel states it has been diligent in following COVID protocols to limit transmission of the virus.

Meantime, other restaurants on the South Shore are taking proactive measures to limit the spread of COVID-19 by closing or shifting to take-out only.

The River Pub in Bridgewater and The Mug and Anchor in Mahone Bay have announced they are temporarily closing as a safety precaution.

Others are shifting to take out only despite provincial orders to do so.
